DJI has introduced a refreshed version of its trusted enterprise drone controller with the release of the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise. This new version builds upon the foundation of the original DJI RC Plus, introducing several upgrades that aim to improve usability, performance and overall flight experience for commercial drone operators.
Key Upgrades in the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise

One notable change is the model number: DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise carries the designation TKPL 2, diverging from the earlier DJI RC Plus model’s RM700B label.
The most significant upgrade in the DJI RC Plus 2 is the switch to the enhanced OcuSync 4 Enterprise transmission system. With this improvement, the DJI Matrice 4 series can achieve a maximum range of up to 25 km, provided there’s minimal interference and local regulations are observed. That’s 10 km farther than the Matrice 30 series’ 15 km range and 5 km more than the 20 km range of the Matrice 350.
DJI RC Plus 2 features an upgraded built-in battery, extending its operating time to 3.8 hours — up from 3.3 hours on the original model. Both controllers are compatible with the external WB37 battery, allowing for a total runtime of up to 7 hours on the RC Plus 2 and 6 hours on the original RC Plus.
DJI has made some ergonomic adjustments as well:
- HDMI and USB-A ports have been relocated to the top edges for easier access.
- USB-C and microSD card slots have moved to the bottom of the controller.
- Two new mounting points have been added on top for accessories.
- Larger rubber bumpers now protect the top corners for improved durability in the field.
The screen’s brightness has also been improved, now offering 1400 nits compared to the 1200 nits of the previous version, enhancing visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
The updated controller now comes in a light grey finish and features Bluetooth 5.2, a slight upgrade from version 5.1, bringing improved connection stability.
What Remains Unchanged
Both the DJI RC Plus and DJI RC Plus 2 maintain the same 7-inch display with a 1920×1200 resolution. Port options, though relocated, are identical across both models. Button layout remains consistent as well, ensuring a familiar experience for users transitioning to the new model.
DJI has kept the same button layout on both controllers and continued support for the WB37 external battery, enabling extended use without recharging. As long as the internal battery has power, the WB37 battery can be hot-swapped.
Drone Compatibility
DJI RC Plus 2
The DJI RC Plus 2 currently supports the following drones, with more to be added over time as new products are released. Since it’s the latest enterprise controller, compatibility will continue to expand. As a general guideline, drones that use the same version of DJI’s OcuSync (O) transmission system are typically compatible with controllers using that same standard. Currently supported models include:
- DJI Matrice 4D
- DJI Matrice 4TD
- DJI Matrice 4E
- DJI Matrice 4T
DJI RC Plus
The DJI RC Plus supports the following drones, and since it’s most current model, this list is considered final.
- DJI Matrice 300 RTK
- DJI Matrice 350 RTK
- DJI Matrice 30T
- DJI Matrice 30
Additionally, there is a separate version of the RC Plus specifically designed for use with the DJI Inspire 3 drone.
Conclusion
In summary, the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise delivers meaningful upgrades in range, battery life and user experience, positioning it as a robust controller for the next generation of enterprise drones.
